Andreas Refsgaard

Andreas Refsgaard is a Danish artist and creative coder born in 1985. In his art practice, Refsgaard uses machine learning to make unconventional connections between inputs and outputs. He regularly contributes to ml4a, a free resource on machine learning for artists, and publishes learning resources to demystify machine learning. Refsgaard holds an MSc IT from the IT University of Copenhagen and a bachelor in sociology from the University of Copenhagen. 

 

Refsgaard’s works have been published in the New Scientist, Vice, Gizmodo, PSFK, and Designboom, and have won prizes at the Interaction Awards and Core77. Furthermore, he has exhibited at a.o. the Dutch Design Week (NL), CPH Art Week (DK), Heinz Nixdorf MuseumsForum (DE), Chart Art Fair (DK), Click Festival (DK), TIFF (CA), KIKK Festival (BE), QUT Art Museum (AU), Ars Electronica (AT), and New York Design Week (US). He has been a public speaker at international events, including Mutation, openVTR, OEB Conference, DIGITEC, NextConf, and Bump, and has taught workshops at institutions such as CIID (DK), KIKK (BE), ECAL (CH), Umeå Institute of Design (SE), LUCA School of Arts (BE), Hyper Island (SE), Design School Kolding (DK), and SchoolOfMa (DE).
