Black Quantum Futurism is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Camae Ayewa and Rasheedah Phillips, based in Philadelphia, that weaves quantum physics, afrofuturism, and Afrodiasporic concepts of time, ritual, text, and sound together to works escaping oppression in temporality, science and technology. 


BQF has created a number of community-based projects, performances, music, workshops, books, short films, and zines. The Collective has a.o. presented, exhibited, and performed in the US at Red Bull Arts New York, Philadelphia Art Museum, MOMA PS1, Chicago Architecture Biennial, Eyebeam Institute, Art Basel, Queens Museum, Harvard University, and Institute of Contemporary Art Philadelphia. They have as well exhibited abroad at Dhaka Art Summit 2020 (SN), Göteborg International Biennal for Contemporary Art (SE), Serpentine Gallery Pavilion (UK), Bergen Kunsthall (NO), Institute of Contemporary Art London (UK), Onassis Cultural Center (GR), Le Gaite Lyrique (FR), transmediale festival (DE), MOFO Festival (AU), Valongo Festival (BR), Blackwood Gallery (CA), The Israeli Center of Digital Art (IL), Goldsmiths and Yale University.
