Ida Kvetny is a Danish artist born in 1980. Through virtual reality, Kvetny merges the digital with her works in paint and clay, and thus creates a multimodal visual world. For Kvetny, the unconscious occupies a privileged position, as her intuitive approach to image creation leads to places unreachable by rationality. She holds a BFA from Edinburgh College of Art and an MFA from Central Saint Martin’s College of Art and Design. Kvetny has received The Royal Scottish Academy Painters Prize, The Maclaine Medal, Aage and Yelva Nimb Honorary Scholarship, and Niels Wessel Bagge's Foundation grant.
Recently, Kvetny exhibited solo at the Round Tower, Politikens Forhal, and Elena Schukina Gallery (UK). She has furthermore participated in exhibitions in Denmark at Brandts, ARKEN Museum of Modern Art, Holstebro Museum of Art, Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Trapholt museum, Gl. Holtegaard, Thorvaldsens Museum, Nikolaj Kunsthal, CLAY Museum, and Den Frie Center for Contemporary Art, as well as abroad at Ystad Museum of Art (SE), The Museum of Art at Seoul National University (KR), The Torrance Art Museum (US), The Sovereign European Art Prize Exhibition at Sommerset House (UK), The Leroy Niemann Center (US), and Abrons Arts Center (US).
