Marie Kølbæk Iversen is a Danish artist born in 1981. Through a research-based practice, she examines mythical thinking as a catalyst for the tranformative potential of fear. She holds an MFA from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and since 2017 she has been employed as an artistic research fellow between the Oslo Academy of the Arts (NO) and Aarhus University funded by the Novo Nordisk Mads Øvlisen Grant and the Norwegian Program for Artistic Research.
Recently, she has exhibited in Denmark at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Annual Report, Overgaden, Brandts, and Fotografisk Center, as well as abroad at Heine Onstad Kunstsenter (NO), the 11th Gwangju Biennale (KR), Kai Art Centre (EE), Tensta Konsthall (SE), Kunsthall Oslo (NO), PS / Y and LUX (GB), Parmer (US), Center d'Art Contemporain (CH), STUK Kunstencentrum (BE), and MONA (AU). Her works are a part of the collections of The National Gallery of Denmark, ARKEN Museum of Modern Art and The Danish Arts Foundation.
